ICSTI Webinar: Research Data Management and Workflows in Universities – Transforming Data to Knowledge
ICSTI organizes its second webinar of 2019 themed ’Research Data Management and Workflows in Universities – Transforming Data to Knowledge’.
All over the world universities and libraries have started the task of developing research data services. Ideally such initiatives aim to result in a complete service portfolio covering the entire research lifecycle: support in writing proposals and data management plans, repository infrastructures for the storage of data, support in publishing data, assignment of persistent identifiers, lecturing in data management, and so forth. This broad scope means that such services are often seen as requiring a joint effort from the university, library, IT centre, faculties and other stakeholders.
Join this webinar to share with experts from three US prominent universities, an in-depth look at the services and infrastructure they provide for research data for their researchers, and learn from their experiences and the challenges they have identified.
- Tom Cramer – Director, Digital Library Systems & Services, Stanford University Libraries
- Mercè Crosas – Chief Data Science and Technology Officer at IQSS, Harvard University
- Michael Witt – Head, Distributed Data Curation Center (D2C2), Purdue Libraries and School of Information Studies
Jan Brase, Head of Research and Development at Göttingen State and University Library and President of ICSTI will introduce this online seminar.
The webinar is freely open to all but registration is required.
