RDA's 13th Plenary Meeting
Data professionals, researchers, industry leaders, entrepreneurs and policymakers from all disciplines and geographies will reconvene on 2–4 April, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania for the Research Data Alliance's (RDA’s) 13th Plenary Meeting (P13). With the theme, “With Data Comes Responsibility,” P13 will explore how the international, inter- and transdisciplinary nature of RDA has helped to lay a foundation for global partnerships and addressing responsibility throughout the data lifecycle and across all domains.
Rorie Edmunds will represent WDS as one of the co-chairs of the RDA/WDS Interest Group on Certification of Digital Repositories, which is organizing a breakout session entitled 'Build TRUST to be FAIR - emerging needs of certification in Life Sciences, Geosciences, and Humanities'.
Rorie and Karen Payne (ITO Associate Director) will both attend the NSF-funded “International Network-of-Networks: Data Experts Workshop” (iN2N), a pre-meeting co-located with the RDA Plenary 13. This workshop will convene a group of data experts to address the socio- and technical challenges in making data shareable and interoperable internationally. It will produce a scientific white paper concisely articulating the complexities of conducting research across international borders with a focus on data use and interoperability.
