Data Repositories Day 2018

Data Repositories Day 2018 took place on Friday, 09 November 2018 at the University of Botswana in Gaborone, Botswana.

On Friday, 9 November, the World Data System organized its first international Data Repositories Day at the University of Botswana, after the close of International Data Week 2018.

Incorporating WDS' biennial business meeting—the Members' Forum—this open meeting presented to the community the many benefits that WDS has to offer repositories:

  • How WDS can help an organization improve its practices and policies; for example, through the CoreTrustSeal certification standard.
  • How WDS can raise an organization's local and international recognition.
  • How WDS can help an organization to demonstrate to its community its commitment to Open Science.

Data Repositories Day furthermore enabled attendees to learn about WDS and meet its Members. In particular, WDS Member Organizations will be present to talk about their work, and of course there will be ample time to liaise and network among your peers, as well as get expert advice from the WDS/CoreTrustSeal help desk.

The Meeting Agenda with links to the presentations (PDF), and the list of attendees is below.
